Service and Diagnosis
Performance or power concerns? ADF Diesel is proud to offer its clients reliable and efficient diagnostic tools.
Among other services, we offer leading, high-tech test environments for engines and transmissions.
Engine Dynamometer
ADF Diesel has two types of dynamometers to meet client needs; a chassis dynamometer on rollers that allows us to perform the test without taking out the engine, and the absorption dynamometer for when the engine is off the chassis.
Power on Wheels
A test to ensure repairs were well done and provide data for the client and technicians.
Engine Condition
An inspection and dynamometer test which measures basic engine operations against manufacturer specifications.
Power Analysis Report
An extensive and rigorous dynamometer test utilizing sensors and calculations to compare engine operation to industry and government standards.
Benefits to Using Dynamometer Testing
- Reduce down time
- Eliminate reconditioning errors
- Efficiently pinpoint problems
- Simulate loaded conditions
- Indicate when repairs should be done
- Improve maintenance program efficiency
- Increase resale value
- Validate before purchase by testing

Transmission Dynamometer
ADF Diesel is one of the only companies in Eastern Canada equipped with a test bench for AIDCO 900 transmissions specially designed for Caterpillar transmissions, which makes us a pioneer in repairing and reconditioning industrial transmissions in Quebec.
We are able to test hydraulic components on robust off-highway vehicles because we are equipped with some of the most advanced hydraulic testing technology.
This test bench is designed to test components such as:
- Hydrostatic transmissions
- Engines
- Hydraulic pumps
- Cylinders
It provides a durable and reliable platform for performance tests for:
- Transmissions
- Torque converters
- Gear pumps
- Rotary vane pumps
- Hydraulic engines
- Cylinders and valves
Quality control is a priority for ADF Diesel. Equipment down time is very costly for our clients which is why we use the best equipment to test our finished products.
Dynamometer on rollers
With a capacity of 1000 horsepower to the wheels, the dynamometer synchronizes with the Engine Computer Module's (ECM) data, which allows us to run the engine and transmission while simulating a loaded truck. This allows us to validate not only the vehicle's horsepower, but also confirms that the engine, transmission and sensors are working simultaneously and conjointl, therefore determining whether the equipment's performance matches the manufacturer's specifications.
